Ian Bell made 57 not out for England as their second test against Sri Lanka ended in a draw

Resuming on 149-2, Alistair Cook and Kevin Pietersen batted on until the later was removed after scoring 72.

Cook went onto make a century from 223 balls, hitting ten fours but six runs past the one hundred mark, he was stumped.

At the other end, Coventry born Bell had been in good form with the bat, hitting fifty from forty balls and finishing the innings on 57 not out, whilst Morgan was out for four, the same score as Matt Prior and Stuart Broad who made three before England declared on 335-7.

That set Sri Lanka a target of 343. They lost former Warwickshire batsman Kumar Sangakkara for twelve.

Warwickshire's Jon Trott had Tharanga Paranavitana trapped lbw before the captains shook hands with Sri Lanka on 127-3.
