Gronewegen Wins Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic

LottoNL-Jumbo's Dylan Groenewegen has won the Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic in The Netherlands.

There was a strong field for the 198km race which featured seventeen climbs from Arnhem to Veenendaal and saw four riders including Christian Meier, Mol and Wilson. take a lead of four minutes before that came down to three minutes with 120kms to go.

The break dropped to three riders and they were still clear by a minute with thirty kilometres left to race.

Onto a 23km finishing lap around Veenendaal and the gap was only at twenty five seconds and eight kilometres later the break was over.

Ockeloen and Van Goethem went clear only to be caught with 4.5kms to go and the race finished in a bunch sprint with Dylan Groenewegen winning ahead of ONE Pro Cycling's Chris Opie and Kenny Dehaes.
