Good Start For Warwickshire

Warwickshire County Cricket Club got off to a good start on the opening day of their County Championship game at Lancashire.

At Old Trafford, Lancashire won the toss and decided to bat. They had put on seventeen when Keith Barker has Reece caught behind by Tim Ambrose.

Horton and Agathangelou moved the score on to 85 before Chris Woakes had Agathangelou caught behind by Tim Ambrose. Ash Prince came in but in the second ball he faced, he nicked a catch to Ambrose to give Woakes a second wicket.

Proctor gave Javid a catch and Oliver Hannon-Dalby a wicket after making 37 before Barker had Paul Horton trapped lbw after the opener had made 83.

Smith became Ambrose's fourth catch and then Barker took his third wicket to reduce Lancs to 201-7.

Chris Woakes came in to mop up the tail enders and finish with figures of 5-63 with six catches for Ambrose and Lancashire all out for 247.

Varun Chopra and Will Porterfield came together and put on 63-0 after 19 overs to see Warwicks end the day 184 runs behind.
