Good Start For Warwicks Second X1

Warwickshire's Second Eleven made a good start on the opening day of their friendly against a Hampshire and Surrey Combined side.

At Binley Road at the home of Coventry & North Warwickshire Cricket Club, Warwicks batted first and put on fifty before Ameed who had made 24 was caught by McManus.

His fellow opener Lewis made 36 before he was trapped lbw by Griffiths and Rikki Clarke added a rapid 39 whilst at the other end, Webb was working his way to an unbeaten 103.

Warwicks lost Best for 13,  Ali for nine and Thomason for two before they declared on 313-7.

The visitors closed on 8-0.
