Giacomo Nizzolo has won the Grand Piemonte race in Italy.

The 100th Giro Del Piemonte race which has been won twice by Philippe Gilbert and last year by Jan Bakelants was over 207kms and from Diano d'Alba with a finish in Agliè.

It was a race that saw three Etixx Quick Step riders crash in the early kilometres and a group of thirty eight riders have a lead of 1.20, some 76kms into the race.

That group was eventually brought back and Rossetto jumped clear taking a lead of 3.20 with 75kms remaining.

With 33kms left, Stephane Rossetto was still two minutes clear and twelve seconds ahead going into the final five kilometres.

Three kilometres later and Rossetto was caught and Giacomo Nizzolo took the win in a reduced bunch sprint ahead of Fernando Gaviria and Daniele Bennati.
