Fabian Cancellera Wins Tour de Suisse Opener

Trek Segefredo's Fabian Cancellera  has won the opening stage of the Tour de Suisse.

The tour started with a 6.4km in Baar and Reto Hollenstein of IAM Cycling setting an early time to beat of 7:52.

Yves Lampaert of Etixx-QuickStep finished in 7.48 as did Wilco Kellerman of LottoNL-Jumbo who took the lead by fractions of a second.

Then Gorka Izaguirre (Movistar) went better by 86 one-hundredths of a second.

Britain's best hope was time trial champion Alex Dowsett but the Movistar rider crashed and lost over a minute to finish in 8.48.

Jurgen Rolandts (Lotto Soudal) came home in 7.39 to take the lead but Fabian Cancellera was on the road and he flew home to finish in 7.38 and take the victory.
