England Half Century For Ian Bell

Ian Bell made 52 for England on the opening day of the second test against Sir Lanka.

England batted first at Lords and Jon Trott who had been the man of the match in the last test, made only two runs before he was trapped lbw by Lakmal after facing nine balls.

With Strauss already gone, that left England on 18-2. Another wicket soon followed when Kevin Pietersen was also out for two.

Alistair Cook and Ian Bell had put on 108 before Bell who had just past the fifty mark was caught by Paranavitana off the bowling of Welegedara. 

Cook and Eoin Morgan took charge before Cook went for 96 and Morgan for 79.
