Team Sky's Elia Viviani has won the second stage of the Three Days Of De Panne in Belgium.

This stage with Katusha's Alexander Kristoff in the leader's jersey was a 211km trip to the seaside in a stage from Zottegem to Koksijde

Ligthart, Morice, Slik, Stasj, Tenbrock, Tonelli, Van Lerberghe and Zilioli got themselves into a break which was 7.13 ahead after 54kms, after avoiding a crash early in the stage.

Jonas Tenbrock took the first climb of the day as the gap dropped to 4.51 with 71kms left and as Puñetazo of Katusha clearly shoved a Direct Energie rider out of the way.

With 58.2kms to go there was a crash on the cobbles that took down a number of riders including Jack Bauer who ended up in a ditch.

Bauer finally got back into the peloton who were 2.26 behind Pim Ligthart, Bert Van Lerberghe and Ivar Slik with 38.6kms left.

On the finish line for the first time of asking, Van Lerberghe of Topsport took the three seconds on offer for the Rush points at Koksijde.

The peloton crossed the line 1.42 later whilst up the road, Ligthart used a bike lane to take a short cut and get a bit of time on Van Lerberghe and Silk.

Ligthart took three seconds with 22,5kms left ahead of Van Lerberghe and Silk and was still 1.25 clear of the peloton with two laps left.

Slik was absorbed by the peloton and with 12.5kms left, Ligthart was caught by the peloton and the bunch stayed together for the sprint which was won by Elia Viviani in 5.01.05 ahead of Marcel Kittel and Kristoff.

"My team mates did so well and I had to take the right train. I had to keep it cool but it was great to win."

Alexander Kristoff leads the race by five seconds.
