Durham Fight Back

Durham fought back on the third day of the County Championship game with Warwickshire at Chester Le Street.

Durham started the day on 230-5 and had Dale Blenkinson made 75 before being bowled by Boyd Rankine.

Richardson was bowled two balls later but Ian Blackwell and Scott Borthwick added 58 for the eighth wicket.

Durham had just passed the 450 mark when Blackwell who had made 125 from 152 balls was run out by Warwicks skipper Jim Troughton.

Thorp went for 15 with the final ball of the 127th over and Durham were all out for 465.

When Warwicks batted for the second time, they were soon in trouble. They had made nineteen runs when Varun Chopra was caught after making eight runs.

Will Portfield was then trapped lbw by Borthwick who four balls later took the wicket of Mohammad Yousuf to leave Warwicks on 50-4.

Warwicks closed on 52-4, some sixteen runs ahead with six wickets remaining.
