Following the recently held AGM, the following was agreed.
1/ The Wednesday League would continue with a two tier structure with the following Clubs:
Division 1. Coventry Colliery/AJK, Coventry & North Warwickshire, Highway, MKB Catering, Pak Shaheen, Pak Star and Standard
And
Division 2. Bablake Old Boys, Bharat Sports, Copeswood West Indian Wanderers, RMCC, Spartans, Star ADL Coventry and Warwick University
It was agreed that this Competition would be run similarly to the KO Competition with innings of 20 overs to last just 75 mins (3.3/4 minutes per over).
With reference to the Lords Taverners Competition (Under-16`s), we will continue with regionalised sections.
Northern Section will consist of: Ansley Sports, Austrey & Newton Regis, Newdigate, North Warwickshire and Nuneaton
And
Southern Section: Bablake Old Boys, Highway, Leamington and Pak Shaheen.
The AGM also agreed to alter the format for the KO Final with BOTH Finals being staged on one day at Coventry & North Warwickshire`s Binley Road Ground on Sunday 15th July, the first final starting around 12.30pm, with the second final to start at around 4pm (these times to be confirmed)
We saw a new Secretary in Colin Bennett installed, Colin has already created a positive impression, replaced Dennis Docking, who retires from the post after18 years in office Members showed their appreciation to Dennis when Chairman Mike Kiernan presented him with an inscribed Whisky Decanter with Goblet.
Also, at the Warwickshire Umpires AGM, Dennis was made a Life Vice-President of the Association.
