Cavendish & Cummings In Dimension Data Tour De France Team

More teams have announced their teams for the 2016 Tour De France which starts on Saturday.

British riders Mark Cavendish and Steve Cummings have been named in Dimension Data's team for the Tour De France.

The South African based side is pretty much as expected and comprises of Natnael Berhane (Eri), Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor), Mark Cavendish (GBr), Steve Cummings (GBr), Bernhard Eisel (Aut), Reinardt Janse van Rensburg (RSA), Serge Pauwels (Bel), Mark Renshaw (Aus) and Daniel Teklehaimanot (Eri).

British Time Trial Champion Alex Dowsett has been left out of the Movistar team for the Tour De France. The Spanish team in their 34th consecutive appearance in the TDF, will be led by Colombia's Nairo Quintana and assisting him will be Portugal's Nelson Oliveira, Colombian Winner Anacona and Spaniards Imanol Erviti, Gorka Izagirre, Dani Moreno, Jesús Herrada and Ion Izagirre.

Trek Segafredo have gone with Fabian Cancellara, Haimar Zubeldia and Edward Theuns  Bauke Mollema, Peter Stetina, Jasper Stuyven and Fränk Schleck, Gregory Rast and Markel Irizar.

Haimar Zubeldia will be in the race for the 15th time with Cancellera competing for the eleventh time.

Astana have gone with a strong team and include the 2014 Tour De France winner Vincenzo Nibali.

Their team is: Fabio Aru, Vincenzo Nibali, Jakob Fuglsang, Tanel Kangert, Alexey Lutsenko, Luis Leon Sanchez, Diego Rosa, Andriy Grivko and Paolo Tiralongo. 

Cannondale have also announced their team which comprises of Matti Breschel, Lawson Craddock, Alex Howes, Kristijan Koren, Sebastian Langeveld, Ramunas Navardauskas, Pierre Rolland, Tom-Jelte Slagter, Dylan Van Baarle.

The Tour is simply the most beautiful cycling test," Pierre Rolland said in a press statement. "It is also one of the biggest sporting events in the world. From the time when I was young, I've always wanted to participate in this event and win stages. I’ve put in many days training, and with the team I have a really good feeling. Truly. I hope for a great performance, from me, from the team. What I'd really like is a new stage victory and to have the best possible overall standing. The competition is very hard, everyone is ready at 100 percent. I know it will be difficult, but I will do my utmost.”
