Sixty nine runs from Coventry born Ian Bell helped England to a tie against India in the ICC Cricket World Cup in Bangalore.

India had made 338 all out from 49.5 overs with Sachan Tendulkar making 120.

England started well despite losing Kevin Pietersen and Warwickshire Jon Trott who made 16 from 19 balls early. Andrew Strauss made a superb 158 and with the sixty nine from Bell, England looked set for victory.

However, when the duo went, England collapses with Collingwood, Prior, Yardy and Tim Besnan all out cheaply to leave England on 325-8 with one over to go.

Needing fourteen to win, England scored three runs off the first two balls and then a six to eave five runs from three balls required for victory. England needed two from the last ball to win but only got a single and the match ended in a tie.
