BBC Coventry & Warwickshire will again be bringing you ball by ball commentary from Warwickshire County Cricket Club matches this season.

The radio station based in Priory Place in Coventry along with Radio WM,has provided excellent match commentary on the Bears for the last few seasons and they are delighted to be doing the same when the season starts on April 14th with the County Championship game at Somerset.

Warwicks under new skipper Jim Troughton were in Barbados for pre-season

Speaking to Edgbaston.com, Troughton said: "It's been an outstanding tour," Troughton said. "It's almost been like a mini-season. We've gone from format to format, as we have to do during the summer, and we've addressed various issues that we needed to look at. We've got the most out of it we possibly could and I really hope we get to come back next year.

"Winning the T20 (Barbados County Cup) tournament was a highlight. We all know that winning is a habit and it's pleasing that we've continued our limited-overs domination.

"But it was really good to see how well the young players fared. We wanted to take the whole squad and we've got to know a lot more about some of them. (Left-arm spinner) Chris Metters has been outstanding - he's a mixture of Neil Smith and Ashley Giles - and he's shown he's ready for first team cricket. Maurice Holmes and Tom Milnes have also been really good.

"They've come into the team, expressed themselves and, when they play first team cricket in the summer, they'll know everyone in the dressing room and feel comfortable and confident.

"We've shown we have excellent strength in depth in our squad and we've shown our fitness remains second to none. That was a massive factor last season and I'm sure it will be again.

"From a personal perspective, I've enjoyed the chance to captain in different formats. I've only really done T20 before."
