Barker Century As Warwicks Go Down Fighting

Keith Barker hit a century as Warwickshire battled in vein to avoid an innings defeat against Durham in their County Championship match at Edgbaston.

With Durham ready to take an easy innings victory, Warwicks resumed on 35-3.

The score had been doubled when Jim Troughton was caught by Mustard off the bowling of Stokes for 28.

Two balls later, Darren Maddy was caught after making 25. Then Tim Ambrose went leaving Warwicks on 98-6.

Rikki Clarke made an good 46 before he was caught behind by Mustard but Keith Barker was in good form with the bat. Barker hit sixteen fours to bring up a century off 152 balls.

However, in his 156th ball, he was caught by Di Venuto and out for 101.

Chris Metters went for 25 and when Naqaash Tahir was caught by Thorp after making 53, Warwicks were all out for 313 to give Durham a win by an innings and 103 runs.
