Warwickshire County Cricket Club hit back on day two of their opening County Championship game of the season with Yorkshire at Edgbaston.

The visitors resumed on 123-8 and started well, adding another 48 before Gale was trapped LBW by Neil Carter for 23.

Jack Rudolph had taken his score onto 75 but in the next over, he was bowled by Imran Tahir.

The score had moved to 180-5 when Jon Bairstow lost his wicket when he was caught by Woakes off the bowling of Carter.

Tim Bresnan had made ten when he was caught by Ambrose off the bowling of Tahir.

Rashid hit 44 including eight fours before he was caught by Ian Bell to give Jon Trott his first wicket of the season,

Another catch for Ambrose took the wicket of Stephen Patterson without scoring and with the score on 274, Hannon-Dlaby was given LBW to a ball by Imran Tahir.

Warwick batted again and although they lost Ian Westwood for a duck when the score was on nine, Ian Bell was unbeaten on 41 and Chopra 33 not out as Warwicks ended the day on 84-1, some 27 runs ahead.
