ABU DHABI TOUR SPINS IN TO ABU DHABI SPORTS FESTIVAL
 

Abu Dhabi, 8 June 2016 – Abu Dhabi Tour – the professional cycling race which will be run over four stages in the emirate from 20-23 October this year – sets its promotion wheels in motion at the Abu Dhabi Sports Festival which begins this Thursday (9 June) and runs until Friday 5 August at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC).
 
At the festival, which is organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), the Tour will run twice-daily spinning classes and day-long KIDs Art Labs on a dedicated stand. His Excellency Aref Al Awani, ADSC’s General Secretary said: “Our goal at this Sports Festival is to encourage families and individuals who do not normally go to gyms or sport clubs. We have partnered with the Abu Dhabi Tour to enrich the programme with cycling-related activities.”


Those wanting to sign up for the classes can do via MAAlneyadi@adsc.abudhabi.ae or register at the general accreditation desk beside ADNEC’s entrance. Classes run daily at 8.30pm and 10.30pm during Ramadan and thrice-daily from 9 July till 5 August with timings to be agreed and cost 40 AED per hour. All participants will receive a special Abu Dhabi Tour promotional T-shirt.
 
In the KIDs Art Labs children get to develop their drawing skills under the supervision of an Abu Dhabi Tour promoter. All the drawings will be exhibited at Abu Dhabi Tour ART at the final stage on 23 October and have the chance to win a kid’s bike as prize. All children can join the KIDs Art Lab: no registration is required and it’s free of charge.



A host of cycling contests and quizzes will also be held several times a day on the Abu Dhabi Tour stand with Tour promotional T-shirts as prizes.
 
The Abu Dhabi Sports Festival is open daily from 4pm - 2am during Ramadan, and 10am - 10pm from 8 July.
 
ABU DHABI FESTIVAL
Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the first-ever Abu Dhabi Sports Festival will focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle through ‘sport and active fitness’. The festival will include a number of various sporting competitions. A wide range of disciplines available including football, basketball, boxing, cycling and badminton alongside some less mainstream sports of the ilk of padel tennis, chess, in-line skating and rock wall climbing.
