Tour de France organisers Amaury Sports Organisation (ASO), British Cycling and tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire will tonight sign an agreement on a three day international stage race in Yorkshire starting in 2015.

Names and dates are still to be announced but there are expectations that this will be a four stage race with the first day split into a time trial in the morning and a road stage in the afternoon.

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said in a press statement: "We are working closely with the ASO and British Cycling to continue the lasting legacy of Yorkshire's Grand Départ by delivering this new race for Yorkshire from 2015, which will rank as a major new addition to the global cycling calendar.

"It has the potential to take in wider parts of the county and we look forward to announcing more details in due course."
