Warwickshire County Cricket Club toiled in the field on the opening day of their County Championship game against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Warwicks won the toss and put Notts into bat and let the home side put on sixty one before Taylor was caught behind by Tim Ambrose.

Alex Hales and Steven Mullaney came together and put on 257 for the second wicket which saw Mullaney caught by Patal after making 119.

With the score on 351, Hales was bowled by Chris Wright for 189. James Taylor then went for 29 and Rikki Wessels for twenty as Notts ended the day on 404-5.
