Warwickshire Bowl Out Hants

Warwickshire County Cricket Club started their 2015 County Championship campaign in the field on the opening day of their game with Hampshire at Edgbaston.

Hants put on 89-0 at lunch but lost six wickets in the second session.  Chris Wright took the first wicket trapping Dawson lbw after he had made 38 before Boyd Rankin came in and had Jimmy Adams caught by Clarke after making 53 and Vince out lbw for eight.

Wright then removed Michael Carberry for 42 to see Hants on 169-4. Rankin was in great form and had Smith out lbw for twelve and Ervine out without scoring.

Hants were 201-6 at tea and when they resumed, Rankin had a five wicket haul when he had Berg, who had made eight, caught again by Clarke.

With the score on 309, Keith Barker had Wheater, who had made 74 caught by Varun Chopra.

Chris Wright took his third wicket when he had Adams, caught by Chopra after making six and with the score on 319, Rankin finished with a career best six wickets for 75 when he had Briggs, who had made 48, trapped lbw to end Hampshire's innings.

Varun Chopra and Ian Westwood opened the batting for Warwicks and they closed on 14-0.
