Warwicks went into bat, having bowled out Surrey for 252 and lost Varun Chopra for eight and Jon Trott for thirteen.
Ian Westwood added 45 before Sam Curran went onto take take five wickets starting with Laurie Evans for nine.
Curran removed Ambrose for a duck and Clarke for one before Ian Bell and Keith Barker added 92 for the seventh wicket when Curran had Bell out for 43 and a run later, Barker was out for 62.
Jeetan Patal made 29 and when Oliver Hannon-Dalby was out for one, Warwicks were all out for 247, five runs behind.
Surrey batted again and Jeetan Patal had Sibley caught by Ian Westwood for 11 as they closed on 33-1.
