Warwickshire County Cricket Club take a lead of 54 runs going into the third day of their game against Somerset at Edgbaston.
Warwicks resumed on 22-0 and added 44 more runs before Varun Chopra was out caught by Trego after making 33.
After Laurie Evans had gone for seven, Ian Westwood and Jonathan Trott moved the score on to 161 when Westwood who had made 66 was bowled by Thomas.
Trott went on to make 87 from 145 balls before he was caught behind by Bates.
Tim Ambrose came in and last nine balls before he was out without scoring and Overton had Clarke and Woakes both caught by Cooper.
Thomas took his third wicket when he had Barker caught by Overton but but Sam Hain was able to take Warwicks through to the close of play with an unbeaten 78 and Warwicks on 319-8
