Thanks to Sam Hain hitting a career best 208 and 164, Warwickshire County Cricket Club were able to set Northants a target of three hundred runs just to stay in the match.

Trott and Hain resumed for Warwicks continued to put on the runs. The five hundred run mark had just been passed when Trott was caught after making 164 and a fourth wicket partnership of 360 was ended.

Hain went on to complete his double century before being bowled by Middlebrook for 208 from 337 balls.

Ambrose, Woakes, Clarke and Barker all went before Warwicks declared on 573-9.

That meant that Northants needed three hundred runs to make Warwicks bat again and by stumps, they were almost halfway there on 149-5 with Woakes and Patal both taking two wickets each.
