Warwicks Lose Royal London Cup Tie

Warwickhire County Cricket Club were beaten by 23 runs under the Duckworth/Lewis method by Hampshire.

At Edgbaston, Warwicks won the toss and put Hampshire into bat.

The visitors made 280-7 with Liam Dawson making 67 and Jimmy Adams hitting 41.

However, the rain came down and when play resumed, Warwicks were set a revised target of 208.

Warwicks were in trouble straight away losing Porterfield and Trott without scoring before Varun Chopra and Tim Ambrose put on 77 before Ambrose was run out for 41.

Chopra went for 49 and then Clarke was run out for one and Javid caught after making three.

Laurie Evans added 43, Patal 12 and Hannon-Dalby two but they were slow on the run rate and in 31 overs, they scored 184-9 to see them lose by 23 runs under the Duckworth/Lewis method.
