Warwicks Lose At Lancs

Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by 42 runs by Lancashire at Old Trafford in a Royal London Cup Northern Group tie.

Lancs batted first and made 298-8 from their fifty overs with Jos Buttler making 91, Steven Croft making 67 and Martin Guptill making fifty before he was caught by Will Porterfield.

Boyd Rankin was Warwicks' best bowler with figures of 4-66.

Warwicks batted and struggled with the run rate throughout. Sam Hain was first out for 24 with Will Porterfield following after making forty.

Jon Trott made 66 and Ian Bell top scored with 73 from 75 balls but it was not enough and Warwicks ended on 254-9, some 42 runs short.
