Warwickshire County Cricket Club decided to field on the opening day of their County Championship game against Lancashire.
At Old Trafford, Warwicks won the toss and opted fo field first when play finally got started at 2pm and struck early when Keith Barker had Tom Smith caught by Tim Ambrose with only six runs on the board.
Haseeb Hameed came in and lasted twelve balls before Ricky Clarke had him trapped lbw without scoring.
Alviro Petersen made 25 but he was caught by Hain off the bowling of Jeetan Patal and Luke Proctor added 36 before Tim Ambrose stumped him following a Patal delivery.
With the score on 91-4, Steven Croft and Karl Brown came together and put on 105 to end the day on 196-4 with Croft 82 not out and Brown unbeaten on 41.
