Warwickshire County Cricket Club have put themselves in a great position after the third day of their County Championship game with Somerset at Edgbaston.

Rain meant that six overs were lost before Warwicks resumed on 319-8.

Sam Hain went on to make an unbeaten 103 from 169 balls but Jeetan Patal was bowled by Overton for 41 and Oliver Hannon-Dalby went for a duck to see Warwicks all out for 365, one hundred runs ahead.

Marcus Trescothwick and Tom Abell put on thirty two when Somerset batted in their second innings. Patal had Trescothwick trapped lbw for 15 and without adding to the total, Ricky Clarke removed Bates and then Hildreth.

Abell and Cooper moved the score on to 74 when Cooper was lbw to Hannon-Dalby.

Allenby was caught by Clarke after making 11 and after Clarke got rid of Trego who had made 21, Warwicks turned the screw even tighter.

With the score on 167, Clarke picked up his fourth wicket when he removed Overton and with only three more runs added, Jeetan Patal mopped up the tail enders with three wickets to give himself a four wicket haul and see Somerset, who had Abell not out on 88, all out for 170.

Before the rain came down, Warwicks had knocked six runs off their target of seventy one and go into tomorrow's final day, now needing another 65 runs with ten wickets remaining
