Warwicks Bat On Opening Day Of Local Derby

Warwickshire County Cricket Club made 258-8 on the opening day of their County Championship game with Worcestershire at Edgbaston.

Warwicks lost Varun Chopra for nine, Ian Westwood for eight and Will Porterfield for 29 to fall to 52-3 but Laurie Evans and Sam Hain came together and moved the score onto 140 before Evans was out after reaching his half century.

Tim Ambrose could only add a single becoming the fourth place out to Leach which was five when Sam Hain was out after making 82.

Morris had Ricky Clarke out for 37 caught and Patal caught for nine as Warwicks closed on 258-8.
