Warwick Bowl First Against Derbyshire

Warwickshire County Cricket Club spent most of the opening day of their two day friendly at Edgbaston against Derbyshire fielding.

Derbyshire batted first and put on ninety one before Slater was caught by Laurie Evans to give Adair a wicket after making fifty five.

Adair had Godleman who had made thirty six, caught by Will Porterfield a run later before Hughes and Madsen pushed the score on.

They had reached 160 when Ateeq Javid bowled Hughes for 33 and then added thirty more runs before Singh bowled Durston for fourteen.

Derbyshire completed their sixty four overs on 261-4 with Madsen 69 not out.

When Warwickshire batted, they lost Will Portefield for a single but Varun Chopra and Ateeq Javid came together and moved the score on to 82 before Chopra was out for 57.

Warwicks ended the day on 110-2.
