Omega Pharma Quick Step's Petr Vakoc keeps his leaders jersey after the fourth stage of the Tour Of Poland was won by Lotto's Jonas Van Genechten.

The day's stage from Tarnów Gemini Park to Katowice was the longest of the race at 236kms and saw Rybakov, Vallee, Cousin, Samoilau and Solomennikov take an early lead of 1.50.

That gap went down to 45 seconds and up to 3.10 and then down to two minutes after 71km but before the one hundred kilometres gone mark, the break had been caught and Team Sky's Josh Edmondson along with Krizek and Taciak took over.

They stayed away until the thirty kilometres to go mark when they were joined by Cousin and Kasperkiewcz who briedly led until everyone was back together for the final eight kilometres.

Europcar's Angelo Tulik went for a long one but was caught by Felline and with four kilometres to go, by Tobias Ludvigsson of Giant Shimano.

Lampre brought everyone back together and inside the final kilometres, Thor Hushovd in his final season of racing, went clear, only to be caught before the line and Van Genechten of Lotto took the win in 5.43.29 ahead of Jacopo Guarnier of Astana, Mezgec, Modolo, Hutarovich, Appollonio, Kreder, Arndt and Maes.

Vakoc finished in the bunch to keep his lead of the race going into stage five.

In Denmark, Magnus Cort Neilsen took the opening stage of the Tour Of Denmark with a sprint victory over Topsport's Jasper de Buyst on a 157km stage from Hobro to Mariager.
