Van Emden Wins Eneco Tour Time Trial

Jos Van Emden of LottoNL-Jumbo has won the Eneco Tour Time Trial and has become the new race leader.

The fourth stage which has Jesper Asselman in the lead, was a 13.9km time trial in Hoogerheide.

Rick Flens of LottoNL-Jumbo set the early time to beat of 16:59 before Adriano Malori of Lampre finished in 16.41.

Jos Van Emden of LottoNL-Jumbo then went into the lead with a time of 16.34 with Wilco Kelderman going second.

Philippe Gilbert finished in 16.54 to go into the top ten before Tom Boonen and race leader Jesper Asselman went down the ramp.

Andre Greipel could only finish in 18.08, four seconds slow than Team Sky's Elia Viviani.

Local favourite Tom Boonen finished in 17.42 and Asselman, who leads the points competition, finished in 18.06 to give Jos Van Emden the stage win.

Van Emden, who takes over the race leader by five seconds, said: "I will have a few beers tonight. The last four kilometres were tough. It is a very important victory This is important for the team and I think I deserved the win."
