Lampre's Diego Ulissi won the 61st Coppa Sabatini in Peccioli.

This was a race of twenty one kilometres of road racing before a first circuit of six laps round a 21.5km course and four laps of a 12.2km course.

Montaguti, Parrinello, Pagani, Zardini, Miletta & Janse Van Rensburg were in the opening break and quickly took a 3.30 lead which dropped by a minute with 100kms to go.

With 68kms remaining, the peloton put the hammer down and the gap dropped dramatically to 1.22 with 47 kilometres remaining.

As Lampre led the charge, only Parrinello, Zardini and Janse Van Rensburg were left on the front and with 22kms to go, the peloton was all back together.

Lampre marshalled every attack and with three on the front, Diego Ulissi was set up to take the win in 4:48:42, beating Andrea Pasqualon, David Villella, Franco Pellizotti and Mauro Finetto.
