The 2015 Paris-Roubaix race will feature twenty seven sectors of cobbles this year.

The race on April 12th which starts in Compiegne, just outside Paris, and finishes in the Roubaix velodrome around ten miles from Lille, is 253 kilometres long and 52.7kms of that will be cobbles.

Three sectors in Quievy, Saint-Python and Verchain-Maugre were used in stage five of the 2014 Tour De France as well as being used in last year's race which was won by Niki Terpstra of Omega Pharma Quick Step.

Sir Bradley Wiggins will attempt to become the first British rider to win the race when he makes his last appearance for Team Sky before embarking on a new career with his new Team Wiggins which has its UCI Continental licence and on the 2016 Olympics.

Wiggins said earlier this month in a press statement: "Paris-Roubaix is a special race for me and I’m determined to give it another go in Team Sky colours.

"It’s one of the toughest races in the calendar and my aim is to improve on my ninth-place finish last year. After that I can focus fully on preparing for the Rio Olympics in 2016."
