Trott Ton Helps Warwicks Take The Lead

Warwickshire County Cricket Club ended the second day of their County Championship game with Surrey at Guildford with a lead of 72.

Warwicks resumed on 12-0 and when the rain stopped, they lost Andy Umeed who had made 18 and Varun Chopra who had made 42 before Ian Bell and Jon Trott put on 118 for the third wicket.

That wicket was that of Bell who was out for 66 from 123 balls and was followed by Sam Hain going for a duck.

Trott continued to hit runs but was out after being trapped lbw by Sam Curran for 123 from 196 balls.

Tim Ambrose hit 53 from 106 balls before he became Curran's second victim and when the day's play ended, Warwicks were on 345-6.
