Trott Strikes Gold

Laura Trott struck gold on the final day of the UCI World Cup in Glasgow by  winning the Women's Omnium.

Trott had been second going into the final three events of the day and won the 3km individual persuit with a time of 3.35.904, then in the scratch race, she finished seventh to put her two points behind Ankudinoff with only the 500m time trial to go.

Trott had to beat Ankudinoff by two places and she did that by winning to take the gold medal and a standing ovation from another capacity crowd.

Becky James finished fifth in the Omnium Final whilst Jess Varnish was ninth in the Kerin.
