Trentin Wins The Tour De Suisse Stage Six

Matteo Trentin of Omega Pharma Quick Step took the sixth stage of the Tour De Suisse.

Omega Pharma Quick Step's Tony Martin went into this 184km stage from Büren an der Aare to Delémont with a six second lead over Tom Dumoulin.

Six riders in Lloyd Mondory (AG2R La Mondiale), Laurent Didier (Trek Factory Racing), Simon Clarke (Orica GreenEdge), Benjamin King (Garmin-Sharp), Jacopo Guarnieri (Astana) and Daniel Teklehaimanot (MTN-Qhubeka) got into an early attack but where brought back and a new group of  Vladimir Isaichev (Katusha Team), Michael Albasini (Orica-GreenEdge), Jacopo Guarnieri (Astana), Jonathan Fumeaux (IAM Cycling), Jacobus Venter (MTN-Qhubeka). formed taking a 4.34 lead.

After Kenny de Haes (Lott-Belisol) had abandoned, Team Sky amongst others upped the pace and with 37kms left, all the escapers were brought back into the fold.

Peter Sagan led the riders over the final climb with eleven kilometres to go

With 31kms left, Warren Barguil attacked followed by King Of The Mountains leader Bjorn Tharau.

Tharua dropped back but Barguill stayed away until the 20kms to go mark and Team Sky took to the front.

George Predler of Giant Shimano was in a group with Peter Sagan but with 2.1kms, Team Sky had closed them down. Tony Martin took his turn on the front as riders used the pavements on narrow roads heading into Delémont.

Martin opened up a gap with Sagan and was able to set up his team mate Matteo Trentin for the win in 4.43.20 ahead of Bennatti, Gavazzi, Swift and Sagan.

Tony Martin keeps his lead of six seconds going into the stage seven time trial.
