Tour Looks Again For Most Agressive Daily Rider

We are all aware of the yellow jersey for the leader of the Tour De France and the other jerseys awarded during the race which starts its 98th tour tomorrow in Passage du Gois La Barre de Monts with a 191.5km stage to Mont des Alloutes on the far side of Les Herbiers, however, there is another prize on offer.

This is the Le prix Brandt de la Combativite which is given to the most agressive rider of each day's racing. It does not have to be the first man over the line but it can be someone who has lead attacks or just gone on his own for a bit of team publicity.

Now in its seventh year, the award is chosen and phoned through to the race organisers with minutes of the riders crossing the finish line.

Making that decision which can be quite difficult at times, are a jury of professionals including Jean Francois Pesheux, Bernard Hinault, Laurent Jalabert, Jacky Durand, Thierry Adam, Christian Olivier, Jean Montois, Phillipe Bouvet and three journalists.
