Time Trial specialist Tony Martin won the Volta Ao Algarve this afternoon.

The fourth and final stage was a 34km time trial and saw Omega Pharma Quick Step's Iljo Keisse the first rider down the ramp at 12noon local time.

Vacansoleil's Thomas De Gendt set the early time to beat, finishing in a a time of 48.05 and beating the time of the previous leader Sylvain Chavanel by twenty three seconds.

That lasted until Jesse Sergent of Radio Shack came in with a time of 46.24 and then stage favourite Omega Pharma Quick Step and World Time Trial champion Tony Martin finished in 45.09. Kwiatkowski went second with a time of 46.16.

Race leader Serge Henao was the last man down the ramp. He had a lead of seven seconds on Rui Costa but could only finish fourteenth and this meant that not only was Tony Martin (pictured below0 the stage winner but the overall victory as well.
