Giant Shimano's Tom Dumoulin has won the individual time trial at Critérium International and taken the lead overall in the race.

Tom blitzed the 7km rolling parcours in 9’07″, putting three seconds into second placed Rohan Dennis of Garmin Sharp and ten seconds into Trek Factory's Bob Jungels.

Resplendent in his new yellow jersey, Tom Dumoulin said to his team's press office: “Finally, after lots of close calls and second places it’s great to get a win.

“I went full gas from the off and did a good ride, nailed all the corners and had good power on the fast sections. Once again the Giant Trinity TT bike felt so smooth and fast and mentally that’s a huge boost when you’re hurting.

“It’s great to win here in Corsica again after our Tour success here last year. It seems that we have a good connection with yellow jersey’s in Corsica.

“Tomorrow is going to be hard for sure but I am in good shape and feel strong so I will give it my all on the climbs with the guys and see how we finish.”
