Team Sky have been linked with signing top British sprinter Mark Cavendish.
The Daily Mail today is reporting that Cavendish has not been offered a new deal with HTC Highroad and that Sky will double his current wage in order to sign him.
Under UCI rules, teams cannot announce which riders they have or will be signing until after August 1st.
Cavendish (pictured above) when made aware of the story replied on Twitter: “As always, I can't go 1 race without some sort of shit going on. At least it's not a crash this time! I will say I'm committed at HTCHighroad until the end of this year, and I'm concentrating now on ~TourDeFrance. Also, please note, all quotes are 9 months old.”
