Britain's Ben Swift won stage two of the AMGEN Tour Of California.

With yesterday's stage postponed due to the weather, today's stage was from Nevada City to Sacremento and saw fours riders in Laszlo Bodrogi (Team Type 1-Sanofi Aventis), Timon Seubert (Team Netapp), James Driscoll (Jamis-Sutter Home) and Ben Jacques-Maynes (Bissell Cycling) the main leaders.

They were eventually brought back when the race shown in 216 countries reached a 3.4km circuit around the streets of Sacremento.

HTC Highroad in their home race were as expected at the front doing plenty of work as the rain came down with two laps to go.

Team Sky including Brit Ben Swift and Ian Stannard took over duties at the front.

Matt Goss of HTC went to the right of the road, but Rotherham born Ben Swift held the middle ground and was first over the line for his fifth win of the season.

Peter Sagan finished second with Goss third.

Stage Three tomorrow is from Auburn to Modesto and is 196.2km long and can be seen on ITV 4 or Eurosport.
