Second Place For Wiggins In Criterium Dauphine Opening

Bradley Wiggins finished second in the Criterium Dauphine race opening prologue today in Grenoble.

This World Tour race started with a 5.7km prologue around Grenoble on wet roads.

Astana's Andriy Grivko set the early time to beat of 6.41 before GreenEdge's Luke Burbridge came home in a time of 6.38.

Team Sky's Chris Froome who rides under a British licence clocked a time of 6.55 whilst Scot David Millar finished in 6.44, four seconds behind 2011 Tour De France winner Cadel Evans.

Last man down the ramp of 175 riders was Bradley Wiggins who won the race last year. Wiggins rode well but was a second slower than Burbridge and took second place going into tomorrow;s 187km stage from Seyssins to Saint-Vallier.
