Michael Schar of BMC has won the second stage of the Tour Of Utah.

A 210km stage from Panguitch to Torrey saw an early attack and it came as no surprise that, it featured Jens Voigt of Trek Factory Racing, a rider known for his attacks over the years.

Along with the German, was Danilo Wyss of BMC, Gregory Brenes of Jamis and Ben Day of UnitedHealth Care in a short lived attack. Voigt and Day started a new attack after being joined by Michael Schar of BMC and Joey Rosskopf of the Hincapie Sports Team and then Darren Lapthorne of Drapac and Ramiro Rincon of Funvic..

This new group took a lead of 2.55 after thirty kilometres and was 6.30 ahead after 73kms.

Rincon was shelled as the gap dropped to 5.45 with 120kms and forty kilometres later, the break after the King Of The Mountain climb with Schar and Rosskopf gaining thirty seconds on Lapthorne, Voigt and Day.

Schar and Rosskopf stayed away until Rosskopf was caught with just over a kilometre to go, by a Lampre led peloton.

The Swiss rider was not to be caught and he took the win to go second in the General Classification, some two seconds behind Jure Kocjan of Team Smart Stop. Jelly Belly's Serghei Tvetcov is third, some eight seconds down on Kocjan.
