Torku Sekerspor's Mustapha Sayer won the sixth stage of the 49th Presidental Tour Of Turkey.

A 177kms stage from Bodrum to Selçuk, saw a few sortees before fourteen riders in  Ignatiev (KAT), Pozzato (LAM), Trentin (OPQ), Timmer (ARG), Vanlandschoot (AJW), Coledan and Di Corrado  (BAR), Marycz (CCC), Venter (MTN), Delaplace (SOJ), Jarc (TNE), Ilesic and Keough (UHC) and De Negri (VIN) manage to get away from the clutches of the peloton lead by race leader Natnael Berhane.

The quality in this bunch of escapers was too much for the peloton who let them get away for four kilometres before catching them up at the 30kms gone mark.

Both being some forty minutes down and no threat to the General Classification or the other jerseys, Christian Delle Stelle (BAR) and Aldo Ino Ilesic (UHC) were allowed to escape and build a lead of 9.50.

As the duo reached the Turkish Beauty sprint by the Lake Bafa nature reserve, the gap was down to 7.30 and saw Delle Stelle take the full points and did not affect Katusha's Mikhail Ignatiev keeping his white jersey.

Delle Stelle took the second sprint of the day after 123.4kms as the duo kept their lead at 6.15 with 50kms to go.

Fifteen kilometres later, four minutes had been eaten into their time on a day where there was not a drop of wind and the catch was made with 30kms to go.

Race leader Natnaeil Berhane suffered a mechanical with 19kms left but managed to get back into the peloton as Sasha Medola went off the front.

Into the final five kilometres on the climb to the Virgin Mary's House, Nicholas Edet got away as Berhane took the front group on and dropped Kevin Seeldrayers.

Out of nowhere, Turkish rider Mustapha Sayer came up to Edet and then passed him on a steep climb with the peloton 33 seconds back.

Sayer was out of sight as the riders went under the final kilometre and won in a time of 4.40.09. Yohann Bagot was second seventeen seconds back with Edet third.

Berhane was still on the road and finished fifty one seconds back to ensure that Sayer takes over the race leaders torquoise jersey.
