Peter Sagan won the second stage of the Tour Of Oman this morning.

A 146km stage from Fanja in Bidbid to Al Bustan with a two sprints and two mountains climb was the fare for the peloton.

Yesterday, CSS' Bobbie Traksel attacked as soon as the flag dropped and today he was at it again with Japan Federation rider Tomohiro Kinoshita following him.

Traksel, who was the most aggressive rider of the day yesterday, taking all the sprints and the King Of The Mountains climb, opened up a lead of 4.20 on the peloton which was dealing with a crash involving a number of Iam riders.

The first sprint came at 32kms and it was no surprise that Traksel took the full three points on offer ahead of Kinoshita and yesterday's stage winner Marcel Kittel.

Their lead had been out to six minutes but by the time the duo had been away for a hundred kilometres, it was down to four minutes.

At the base of the first climb of the day at Al Hamriya and inisde the final forty five kilometres, Traksel sat up and was swallowed up by the peloton. Kinoshita battled on but was soon caught and a Net App rider followed by Team Sky's Peter Kennaught and Sir Bradley Wiggins took the points over the summit.

The second sprint followed straight after and this was won by Astana's Gruzdev ahead of Team Sky's Richie Porte and Peter Kennaugh.

Then, there was the second climb of the day and Daryl Impey of Orica Green Edge was first over the summit at  Al Jissah.

Fifty riders now made up the leading group with race leader Marcel Kittel some 1.25 further down the road.

Saxo Tinkoff's Alberto Contador and AG2R's Nocentini got away with five kilometres to go and they were joined by eight riders including Peter Sagan who took the victory beating Tony Gallopin and Martin Elmiger.
