Nairo Quintana won the Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco (Tour Of The Basque Country), after finishing second on the final 24km Time Trial in Beasain.

Omega Pharma Quick Step's Tony Martin was favourite to take the time trial and did not disappoint with the German setting a time of 35.05 and over taking four riders who went off a minute intervals ahead of him.

Martin had smashed Egor Silin's previous best of 2.19 and although Quintana looked at one stage that he might beat the German's time, Quintana came in seventeen seconds down on Martin's time.

All eyes were on Sergio Henao, the last man down the ramp but he could only finish in a time of 36.02 to place him seventh and give the stage win to Martin and the overall victory to Quintana who won by 23 seconds from Richie Porte and Henao by 34 seconds.
