Team Sky's Chris Froome has been awarded an OBE in the New Years Honours List.
Froome, who won the Tour De France for a second time in 2015 said to the Team Sky website: "I am extremely humbled and very proud to receive this honour," said Froome. "It is obviously further recognition for the sport of cycling and it caps a fantastic year for me professionally and personally. It wouldn't be possible without the help of my teammates, coaches and of course the love and support from my family.
"This really does bring such an amazing year to a close for me in a really nice way, both professionally and personally.
"Winning the Tour de France and having a really successful season this year on the bike, and then at the end of the year, having our little boy, Kellan, come into the world - that has got to be the biggest achievement so far."
