Tour De France race favourite Chris Froome has said that nothing can prepare you for the hype surrounding the Tour De France.

Froome was speaking at a shortened Team Sky press conference on the Mega Smeralda ship which is being used as the media centre whilst the 100th Tour De France is in Corsica.

The Kenyan born British, who is polite and very well mannered, helped Bradley Wiggins win the race last year but this time, he is right in the spotlight.

His appearance at the Team Sky Press Conference ensured a full house and on the press attention, he was receiving, Froome said: "There is nothing you can do for this amount of hype. "It's a bit of a surprise seeing you all."

On how he was feeling two days before the race starts in Porto Vecchio with a 213km stage to Bastia, Froome, who said that it was a shame that Vincenzo Nibali was not in the race but said he thought that there were seven or eight riders in contention for the General Classification, said: "I'm in super condition. I have got a superb team around me and I am ready."
