New Coaching Team For Cov Rugby

Coventry Rugby are delighted to announce a new coaching team for next season.

James Pritchard, Boris Stankovich, Brendon Snyman, and Brendan Burke will form a new player / coaching team under the guidance of Director of Rugby and Attack coach Rowland Winter.

James Pritchard, 35, is an Australian born Canadian International record points scorer with the experience of four Rugby World Cups, and over 200 games at fullback or wing at Championship level and above, including over 10 years with Bedford Blues. Pritchard will be responsible for the team’s defence, and use his knowledge and experience to guide the team’s kickers.

Boris Stankovich, 36, has three Premiership winners’ medals from his 7 years at Leicester Tigers where he played over 100 games at prop. Stankovich, born in New Zealand, represented England at U19 and U21 age groups and following his success at Leicester Tigers, joined Newport Gwent Dragons in 2014. He joins Coventry with responsibility for the performance of the team’s scrum.

Brendon Snyman, 31, started his career with the Blue Bulls in South Africa, before playing over 150 games for Griquas, EP Kings and the Leopards, many as captain. The South African, who is comforable at Number 8 or Second Row, is joining from London Welsh following a few seasons as a player / coach with French side US Montauban. Snyman will be responsible for the performance of the team’s Lineout.

Brendan Burke, 34, played Heineken Cup rugby for Leinster for 3 years before a short spell at Rotherham took him to Bedford Blues where he played nearly 200 Championship games at centre over 7 years. In 2014 the Irishman joined Ampthill as Player/ Backs Coach and led them to promotion to National One, before taking the same role at Cambridge in 2015 and has been instrumental in Cambridge’s promotion campaign so far.

Director of Rugby, Rowland Winter is delighted with his new additions. “The coaching team has a good balance to it and plenty of hunger and ambition. They offer relevant and current experience of the top levels of the game in specialist areas and I am delighted they are on board.”
