Coventry Rugby Club raises a glass of new official club beer ‘1874’ to celebrate the new season.

Coventry Rugby Club is proud to announce the clubs new official beer ‘1874’ best bitter, produced by craft brewer Merrimen Brewing Ltd.

From 19th September, when Coventry Rugby take on Hartpury College, 1874 best bitter will be available throughout the club for the Coventry Rugby faithful and visitors to enjoy.

1874 is a well-rounded premium best bitter, amber in colour, clean in taste leading to a pleasant finish.

Jon Sharp, Chairman of Coventry Rugby, said: “Come along and try this out – every time you raise your glass, you will be raising it to the team’s success”.

Craft brewer Merrimen Brewing Ltd, is operated by Coventry businessmen Alan Mellors and Andy Taylor. Merrimen Brewing has enjoyed great success and has just celebrated its second year of brewing. Andy Taylor, along with his family, have been proud supporters and sponsors of Coventry Rugby for over 10 years, including sponsorship of player Cliffie Hodsgson for the last 3 years.
