Ramunas Navardauskas of Garmin Sharp has won stage nineteen of the Tour De France.

With Vincenzo Nibali having sewn up the yellow jersey after a tremendous fourth victory in the race, the riders rolled out on a 208km stage from Maubourguet Pays du Val d'Adour to Bergerac.

The rain soon came down as Nibali and Rafal Maijka who has mathematically won the King Of The Mountains competition by being thirteen points ahead of Nibali with two climbs which both have two points on offer left led the 164 riders on their way.

Cyril Gautier (Europcar) was the first rider to attack and was joined by Martin Elmiger (IAM) and Arnaud Gérard (Bretagne) after five kilometres.

Tom-Jelte Slagter (Garmin) also joined as this group took a 1.10 lead after ten kilometres and six kilometres later, it extended to five riders when Rein Taaramäe (Cofidis) joined them.

Over forty two kilometres were covered in the first hour of racing as the gap went out to 3.25.

Fifty seconds had been clawed back by the peloton by the time, the five riders went through the town of Condom.

Martin Elmiger was first on the line of an uncontested intermediate sprint at Tonneins as the gap steadied at 2.25.

With 32kms left and the rain hammering down, Tom-Jelte Slagter decided to go off the front and was soon eighteen seconds clear of his fellow escapers who were a minute and three seconds ahead of the peloton.

Onto the category four Cote de Montbazilliac and Slagter, the most aggressive rider of the day was still eighteen seconds ahead as he crested over amid big crowds.

He was joined by Lithuanian Ramunas Navardauskas with thirteen kilometres left and the Garmin Sharp rider went for home with a 21 second lead with 7.3kms left.

On a very technical final few kilometres, Peter Sagan and Romain Bardet were amongst those who were involved in a big crash inside the final three kilometres.

With sixteen hundred metres to go, those who had avoided the crash were closing down on Navardaukas. The chasing group got nearer but Navaradaukas took the win in 4.43.31 ahead of Degenkolb, Kristoff, Renshaw and Bennatti.
